Would you, or have you named your son what most people might consider a "girl" name? Some examples are Tracy, Shannon, Lindsey and Hilary.

Weird, lol. I know lots of girls named Jamie but only one guy and it's my DH's boss, lol.

Quoting LucyHarper:

No. In my town, thats like naming your daughter Robert.

Quoting Kaybean:

You've never heard of Jamie for a girl?!

Quoting LucyHarper:

Jamie's a girls name? I've only ever heard it on boys, and I know a lot of Jamie's, its a nickname for James.

Quoting Kaybean:

I think Jamie is okay for a boy, but not the ones you listed.

My youngest son's name is Casey, he gets mistaken for a girl a lot by people that don't know him, like at the Dr.'s or something or if I'm making appointments for him over the phone.  I really never even thought of Casey as a "girl's" name until the whole Casey Anthony thing, It's always been a "boy's" name.  I also have a cousin who named her daughter Charlie, and a friend who named their daughter Ryan.

I wouldn't, but my stepson has a girls name, plus he was extremely overweight his whole life, but that is what happens when you feed your kid a dozen dunken donuts for breakfast.

poor kid was always bullied

His mother chose his name, what is even worse she spelled it very girly, I guess she wanted a girl.

I've known men by the names of Ashley, Courtney, and Kelly. All named for family.

My grandfathers name was Hilary.

My dd is 6 weeks old and was our gender surprise baby. Whether she had been a boy or girl the name would have been Quinn. The spelling just would have been different.

Quoting momtoBrenna:

I named my ds a name that people are starting to appropriate for girls, Quinn. Such as each of the names that you listed started out as male names with the exception of Hilary. This happens a lot. A name starts out male and then people think it's cute for girls and then, over time if becomes a primarily girl name.

It's an older generation name.

None of those are names I'd choose for my boys.
