My son usually gets around 2 cold sores a year, this is his first year of school. I think he might be getting a cold sore, Are they allowed to go to school with cold sores that arnt dried up?

Yes.  Just be sure he either washes his hands or have germx.  Buy Abreva, it's expensive but it works.  Also, if you see the red spots forming, put ice on it.  it will stop it from developing into a full blown cold sore.

I agree. It's scary to think about this! Is it common for kids to carry this form of Herpes? I'm freaking out a tad.
