Can you think of gifts or toys that are just too ridiculous to purchase for a 3-4year old?

For instance:

XBox 360 w/Kinect

Wii

etc.

If so please list them and say why you think its ridiculous.

iPads, any gaming system.  Pets.

It's not my place to judge what a parent buys for their kids.

Exactly. Maybe if they were buying cigarettes and alcohol I would judge....otherwise, it is none of my business.

And there we have it! The root of the inquiry. Stop being jealous of his ex and let them decide what to get for their child.

I don't think anything is too ridiculous. it all depends on what you feel your child is ready for. I gave ds a netbook when he was 3 for Christmas. He used it to play games and learning to type. If you get a young kid an expensive gift know that there's a good chance it will get broken or damaged.

I think it's all perspective. I think it's crazy that people spend thousands for gifts, but maybe I'm just jealous that they can haha.

It's hard to say because I find myself doing things I said I never would. I have yet to deny my kids anything, but they don't ask for much either.

Game systems for sure. But if the parents/older kids already have systems there are A LOT of games out there for the preschool age. We have games on 3 different system that my 3 yo can play. Course he plays a racing game that dh downloaded on the ps3 and he's better at it than dh. Guess it really depends on the 3 yo. Pets on the other hand the 3 yo isn't going to take care of that pet most of the time they wont even care that they are there.
