I need some book recommendations for my 6yr old son.  He is getting bored with the books that we have...  He gets new books from school, but breezes through them too.

I recently got him some Pixie Tricks books from the library and he loves them!  (They are short chapter books for beginners).  Any other recommendations on books my son might like?

Is he in kindergarten or 1st gr?

The 1st graders here all read the Magic Tree House series together. The Mercy Watson series is also popular.

Any books by Mo Willems is a big hit around here, too.

I remember really liking books by Syd Hoff.

I love mo willems, dr seuss, diary of wimpy kid maybe for a challenge.  What cartoons or characters is he interested in?  DD's teacher also recommends finding non fiction books since this age is interested in facts as well so any science type books would be fun.

Maybe the Mr. Putter & Tabby series. They're about an elderly man who adopts a cat, and then the adventures they have. The books are written by Cynthia Rylant. My daughter loves them, and I think they'd appeal to both boys and girls.
