How would I go about this?

I was thinking how,at DS's old school, all the teachers had walkie talkies.Even the lunch monitors had them. But at the Littles' school, all they have is an ancient PA system.

So then I wondered how you could go about getting a grant, etc. to supply the staff with walkie talkies?I know I couldn't afford to buy them out of pocket, but I think they could potentially be very helpful,if God forbid anything bad ever happened.

Anybody have any ideas?

Same. My son's elementary school had a PTO and a site counsel, and I would have approached both. Usually, there are already people with grant writing experience in those organizations.

I agree with talking to the principal and the pto. Maybe even the superintendent or school board.

You can easily search for grants online on your own If you find one that could be used to purchase walkie talkies, forward it to the principal. The biggest problem is limited staff due to budget cuts. Many schools no longer have someone to research grants and it can be time consuming.
