Hi,

I guess you could say I am new to this, even though I have been using cafe mom for quite sometime, I don't chat much.

I just found out my 4 yr old son is boy kissing momallergic to wheat! I go see a specialist on the 14th!

So I'm trying to find mom that can give me some ideas, recipes, fun ideas to make our journey with this a little easier !

anything helps!

BTW, he is also allergic to milk.

Hello mama!

Firstly, you should join Young Children with Asthma, allergies and excema here on Cafemom.  Its a great group (small) full of wonderful people who can give you tons of ideas!

I have two children of my own with so many food allergies, its ahrd to keep up :(.  I am thinking about making a card to keep in my wallet, its that bad.

BUT you will survive, I promise :).

My best suggestions.  Learn to cook on your own, don't be ashamed if yoru family starts eating different meals, and get good at "substituting".  Also, find your local organic food section or store, as you will find the wheat free/dairy free choices there.  I know its going to put a dent on your wallet, but be prepared for it.

Some items my baby like (who can't have wheat or dairy (or so many other things) Annie's Gluten Free Graham bunnies, Cherrybrook Kitchen- they make cookie mixes, cake mixes, brownie mixes, and pancake mixes.  Fantastic tasting too!  My son can't have potatoes either, so many of the GF items are off of his list (they put potatoe starch in it).

Is he in school?  If so, I will be more than happy to help you with all of hte paperwork to get that settled :/.  Its definitely not easy!

Best,

Corrina
