I don't know what that is, does the whole school read the same book?

Yes and other schools too.
There are set dates to read certain chapters and then they talk about it the next day. It gives the whole community something to unify them.

The elem school does not, but the middle school does. Ds1 doesn't do it, so I have no idea what this yr's book it. Last yr's was Schooled, I think- either then or 2 yrs ago.

I have no idea.  I haven't heard anything about it so I doubt it.
