2nd grade DD 8.5  Raylyn has grown up way too fast this last yr ,

 

of course I make sure I go behind her to see if it's right and do the mom stuff but she is making me feel older as she gets more independent !! :(

My boys are 9 and 12.  They also cut the grass, clean up after the dog in the yard, shovel snow, rake leaves, clean the family room, wash cars, vacuum the pool . . .

LOL  DD can do most of that but fights her writing journal for homework.   We dont have a guinea pig so teaching her how to put water in the cat's water dish w/o spilling on the floor.  Measuring cups are great for little hands.

Hahahha wait until she hits 12 or 13 then all the sudden she will forget ALL of that!!! LOL well except for the brushing her teeth and getting her clothes out..lol

Homework yes, get out cloths yes, bathroom once a week, no guina pig, baccuum room yes, fold clothes yes, trash no not her job, teeth yes, kitchen she does dished... My hubby isnt even allowed to clean in the kitchen. Im a little OCD in that room

Wow, alot of kids have their OWN bathroom? Realy? I would not make my kid clean it, I would help. Same with laundry and trash.

 My DD is 6 and is very independant. She makes her bed, helps with laundry, helps around the house, picks out her own clothes, brushes her teeth without asking and does her homework without being told

They clean their rooms,but I remind them brush their teeth on their own, clean their bathroom I remind them, snow shovel/snowblow but I let them know when the best time to do it, mow grass on their own, take trash to street on their own, and vacuum..I tell them when. , empty dishwasher, I remind them by email to do it after school.

Homework- no to son, yes to daughter. She finally started taking responsibility in middle school.

Clothes- yes both by the time they were 8 or 9

Clean and vacuum room- yes but son has to be nagged LOL. DD started doing it without being asked at 10, DS is already 11 LOL.

Trash- yes for son, its his chore. DD refuses.

Brush teeth- no both kids have to be reminded still but DS less so.

Clean the kitchen without being asked- NEVER LOL.

I wish! Lol awesome on your dd!!!! :) my kids do most of that, but, I have to ask or remind. :) I still put out clothes. My kids are girl, 8.5, and boy, 9.5. Besides normal things, like cleaning the room, ds takes out the trash, and changes the cat litter. Dd cleans their bathroom, feeds and waters the dogs and cats. They do other random things I ask. I wish they did more on their own. We spoil them too much. Lol
