when did you take off your kids training wheels?

? My dd is 6. And honestly she's never had an opportunity to take her training wheels off since we lived at an apartment and she constantly has to pull over to the side of the street in the parking lot for cars. Now that we live on a quiet street she can learn to ride a bike. What age did your child have their wheels off? I mean what's the normal age..

Have not yet. We have tried for two years with my oldest. She is just scared and gives up easily and she is 9 years old. My 5 year old asked Daddy to about a week before winter hit. So we will try this year. Not sure if my 9 year old will want to. But she will when she is ready.

Our neighbors kids were about 5/6 years old.

DD was 5 years old.  Your DD is the perfect age to lose the training wheels.  My DD was ready after riding a 2 wheeled scooter.  IT helped give her balance and she applied it to the bike.  Good luck!

When your child is ready, you will know.  They need to have some confidence in their ability to control the bike and also have good balance.  I think that both of my boys were 4 or 5 years old, but we live in the country and they ride bikes often.

My lil girl in the video biking at age3 no training wheels!

We live in rental townhomes so it doesn't matter where you live. Both my girls learned in a busy parking lot. Both my girls (age 4 and 11) learned to ride without training wheels at age3. My oldest learned the traditional way at age3. My youngest had an advantage and had a "balance bike" it's bike without pedals you learn to balance on we did that at age2 and by age 3 we went to a regular 2 wheeler without any problems.
