I am open minded but...

Ok I am openminded and I am aware my 6th grader is taking sex ed. We talk pretty normally about it at home and she knows plenty about birth control etc...  BUT my daughter just told me her Math teacher told the class there were all kinds of condoms including flavored condoms....

I am kinda in shock.... I mean come on? Isnt it too much to tell a class of 11-12 year olds?

well...on one note, its good that teens know that they need to keep themselves protected at all costs..and using a condom to give a blow job may be a good way of doing so, in case of any STD's and what not .

However , what is a Math teacher doing talking to the students about sex ed ?

I'd be double-checking facts on this one. It could be she learned it from friends in that class and is saying the teacher told them so her friends won't get into trouble. You could email the teacher w/ something like, "My daughter came home saying you told them _____ in class. I know kids don't always repeat things accurately, so I wanted to check w/ you about it."

While that's true, I'm torn on this

Why is the math teacher talking about it ?  I would contact them to verify the story.

Um, yeah, that's weird. BUT, I would verify first.

I am a middle school math teacher and would never dream of saying anything like that. I am pretty sure I even blushed and was embarrsed when I  told them I was pregnant because I was SOOO worried someone would make a comment or ask questions.

I would double check to see what was said. Maybe something was misunderstood?
