My first grader has missed 10 days of school this year. Every absence was due to illness and always with a fever over 101. yesterday my daughter had bad headaches and a sore throat and when i looked she had bumps in the back of her throat. there was no fever would you send your kid to school?

I wouldn't if she's in pain or seems miserable with it. I go more by how they are feeling than by fever because my kids have had things like ear infection with ear drum about to rupture and appendicitis without fever, especially my daughter- she's just not a fever-spiker usually, even when she is sick enough to need to be home.

I would be calling the doctor, that sounds like strep.

Keep her home.  Fever is usually an indicator that they are contagious.  You don't want to share that with her classmates.
