I was just interested in who are the spenders and savers in your family, you, your husband, and your children if they have money to spend or save. You are Mom obviously, and Dad is your husband/SO/boyfriend.

Mom -saver

Dad - spender

Son # 1 - both, sometimes he saves up to buy something, sometimes he just spends his money

Son # 2 - saver (he still has gift cards and birthday money from last year)

Son # 3 saver (he still has gift cards and birthday money from last year)

Son # 4 - to young, no money to save or spend

I'm the saver and my hubby is the spender.
He's getting better though.

My DH is a saver of personal cash.

I am usually a saver of the family money (sometimes spend a little too much on scrapbooking supplies out of the family budget...), but a spender of my personal cash.

Both boys are savers because DS2 doesn't understand money yet, and DS1 is saving up for a Nook.

I have some friends (husband and wife) who have four kids. The oldest is a freshman in college, the second one is a senior in high school, and the younger two are in middle school. We were talking last week, and I found it interesting who the spenders and savers were in the family.

Hubby and I are both pretty frugal.

Dh tends to be more of a spender. I spend too much, but do tend to save a little more than dh does.

The kids are more savers mainly b/c I forget to take their wallets w/ us anywhere- hard to spend your money if Mom forgets to bring it : )
