I only have one child,but here is a bump for you.
I would just have a conversation about ways they should handle it (outside of a fight). Seems like when they aer in the heat of the moment, they aren't quite sure what to do.
If you give them specific steps to take, they can take a step back and think "breath, step away, regroup".
Unless its really violent, I do not jump in they need to work it out themselves. I will help when they argue if they ask for my opinon, but I usually just let them go at it, and if its annoying I send them outside to do it. lol
