Homeschooling can be a great option.

The first step is to look at your laws and then find a co-op or homeschooling group in your area. Then decide on you curriculum. It can be overwhelming.

Try the Happy Homeschoolers Group here, they are great.

Homeschooling is wonderful. Please search for the groups Homeschooling Moms, and Happy Homeschoolers. I'm in both and they're a great help for those of whom are starting out or thinking of taking the Homeschooling route. =]

I homeschool.  My son has sensory processing disorder, anxiety, and some other stuff going on.  He's also very gifted.  Homeshooling gives us time to focus on helping him overcome his challenges while keeping him challenged academically.  We use a charter homeschool program.

Homeschooling is not for everyone, but it can be a great option.  We've been homeschooling for 3 years now and love it.  Check out these groups:

Happy Homeschoolers: http://www.cafemom.com/group/699

Homeschooling Moms: http://www.cafemom.com/group/114079
