A Swing In Your Child's Room: Would You Dare?

by Gabrielle Blair

Are we taking things to the next level when we start talking about hanging swings inside the house? Perhaps. But how cool would that be?! After finding myself a bit intrigued by the idea, I thought it might be fun to track down some swinging inspiration -- like the indoor tire swing pictured above. Why not bring a bit of the playground inside

See more below:

This setup looks pretty basic but still manages to be pretty. I'm ready to sit down for a good swing to give it a test!

Fun, right? You can't go wrong with a circle seat.

It's a swing, it's a chair, it's awesome.

Tall ceilings are probably a must -- and of course avoid windows and walls for maximum swinging fun.

You can literally swing from the rafters here. This one is a bit like a trapeze, yes?

So there you have it. Swings. Inside the house. For your kids!

Do you think you'd ever be willing to risk it?

I don't think I'd trust my kids w/ a swing in their bedrooms. A playroom, maybe.

IF I were to allow one, I'd go the chair-swing route.

I have to agree.  Their rooms aren't nearly big enough for a swing, too much risk of crashing into walls, windows & generally creating havoc.  Maybe in the downstairs playroom, but even there they already create so much havoc that I'm not sure I'd want to try it.

Cute, but unless my Son's room was bigger than Our LIVING ROOM, lol, no way.

My boys are well beyond the swing stage, at least until their adult years.  lol  I don't think that I would have put a swing in their bedrooms since there really isn't room for it.

Yes! In fact I plan on it when we move. It would be an amazing sensory tool

I think it would be fun. I love the swinging chairs.  I might have to look into that

Very cool, maybe in a playroom.. But as cool as it is, dont think I would do it for fear of damaging the house in someway... Anyways need as many ways possible to get them outside in the sun.
