Spin off from the swimming post...

What is the closest large body of water to you?
Do you take advantage of the water sports it offers?
What is your fave way to spend time in the water?

How about boating or fishing?

I don't like fishing. I'll only hold the pole and bate the hook only if I don't have to use anything live. I don't like seafood either. I've actually never been on a boat there. Only the ferry a few times but I don't think that counts.

The closest large body of water is the Chesapeke Bay.
No. I'm pretty sure it doesn't offer any water sports.
My favorite way to spend time in the water is to swim in it.

I have a river a few blocks away, we go down sometimes and play at the edge. I want to kayak, but DH won't.

The creek across the street. My hubs and kids fish there but I haven't yet. We don't swim in that.

Probably Willard Bay would be large enough.

Never been with the kids. They can't swim.

I like kicking my feet in water...That's about it.

A lake.  No and we really don't go to the lake, though I would like to.  I would like to try jet skis.

Well, I live in the Land of 10,000 Lakes, so it really depends on what your definition of largest is and in what distance.

I believe the closest body of water to our house is the Mississippi River (less than 2 miles), and it's not really the best place to go fishing or swimming. There are other lakes really close to our house that is better suited for water activities. Since there so many lakes here, I don't really want to name the ones closest to our house because it would narrow down where we live in the Twin Cities.
