Another post got me to thinking, at what age did/will your child start calling friends on the phone to see if that friend is available to play?

If you don't permit your child to call friends on the phone, do they at least know how to make a phone call?

My kids know how to call but do not call friends. I teach them early incase of emergency.

Is he not interested in calling friends or are you not comfortable with it?

Quoting AugustMomma: DS6 is only allowed to call his grandparents.

Are they not interested in calling friends or is it something that you aren't comfortable with?

They have never asked. My oldest turns 8 on Friday. If they ask and I have the parents number I have no problem with it.

So if they want friends to come over, you make the phone call for them?

It hasn't occurred to him yet that he could call them. Every now and then he'll ask me to call a friend's parent. I'm not really comfortable with him calling friends just yet. I feel as though he see his friends daily, if they have anything to say to each other, they can do so at recess.

If he wants a friend to come over, you call the parents and arrange it for him?
