The love of books is a gift parents can give their kids at an early age. Today's challenge is to encourage the love of reading by setting aside time each day to read with your kids!

Here are some the benefits of reading to your kids:

  • It's a great way to bond with your kids.
  • Helps develop language, communication, and listening skills.
  • Teaches kids that reading is fun, not a chore.
  • Strong reading skills are an important component of your child's success in school.

Do you like to read? Do you set aside time for your kids to read (or you read to them) each day? What do you think are some other benefits of reading to your kids?

One mom who participates in all 10 days of the challenge will be entered to win a $50 American Express gift card!

Yes I love to read. Yes we read every day together. And we are practicing her reading to me. Benefits of her reading is to learn new words and work on how she takes.

I love to read. My kids like to, but prefer to read at bedtime only.

I used to read to them a lot. It was a great way to make an older one feel included when nursing a younger one. It was also a good way to spend time w/ one when I was exhausted from dealing w/ any of the others during the night and didn't feel like actually playing.
