Keeping their rooms clean was one of the first things we expected of our girls, even at a young age.  When they were about 8-9 we started making them help fold their clothes and put them away.  I would always help them and advise if they weren't folding correctly so that everything would fit right in the drawers.  When they were 10 they started helping with drying the dishes.  Now that they are older (12 & 14) they fold all of their own clothes (I still wash them but they sort) and they take turns washing and drying the dishes.  They also have their own bathroom to themselves, so we expect them to clean it themselves.  They have their own "chart" where if one cleans the shower and sink the other mops the floor and cleans the toilet, then the next time they alternate.

My kids have chores but don't do them. Nothing seems to matter and only time Marc sees the older kids is on the weekend before goes to work so he is the only one that can make them do anything.
Kim is to do the kitchen including the dishes. and also has to keep her room clean. Christine the oldest is to do her room the frontroom and computer room. Angela is to clean table do bathroom and vacuum hall. Rebecca does just the turning off the lights at night.. The younger two does nothing. But anymore I am stuck doing Kim's chores and Angie's when can. I am 6 weeks pregnant and tired and soo hard to bend AND getting no help from anyone...
