So, does your 5th grader call you Mom or Mommy, or Mama..both, all, etc? My daughter still calls me Mommy at home, and when she refers to me to other family members. But, in front of friends or in public, it's Mom now! What about you? (And do you miss "Mommy" if it's now "Mom"?!)
My son is Kevin, will be 11 in Oct. He is in the 5th grade. He loves to swim He is a very smart and funny funny kid. He loves science and anything with animals. He loves riding his scooter, playin his PSP, Playstation2, Wii, Xbox-360 and his DS. He is a Webelos Scout, and is excited about becoming an actual Boy Scout next year. We have 1 dog, 1 puppie, 2 cats, 1 kitten and 5 chickens which he gets up everyday...whether school day or not and feeds them.
My Daughter stopped calling me Mommy awhile ago. I believe it was when she was 7 and she used to call me Mimi. =(. Now it's just Mom
My 5th grader always calls me mom ... But when he wants something he calls me "mommy" lol
My fifth grade daughter still calls me mommy. She'll also still run up and give me hugs at school too. I figure I'm going to enjoy it as long as I can because I know it'll eventually stop. My 14 year old (8th grade) won't even acknowledge me at school so I'm cherishing it while it still happens.
Not sure why, but it seems like Daddy gets to stay Daddy much longer than Mommy stays Mommy. My father was 58 when he died. He was still Daddy, but my mother has been Mom or Momma since I was probably 12 or 13, Usually Momma. My youngest is only in third, so I still get to here Mommy.
