My son has a friend at pre-school who just recently had his hair cut into a mohawk. My son wants one. Hubby said no. Daddy usually takes him to school, but today I am helping with a party. So....today the little guy is sporting a faux-hawk. Wonder what Hubby will say? So to answer your question, my son wearing a faux-hawk makes me smile. He looks so cute!

I realized today how little my kids know about their heritage. Well, my husband is Hispanic and I am white. My daughter Lauren who is 5 was talking about her pretty black friend at school. She said she wished she was black so I asked her "Do you know what ethnicity you are?" She said no, so I told her that she was part hispanic. She looked at me with the funniest expression and said that she isn't hispanic she is American. I said "Yes, you are, but your ethnicity is Hispanic." Again she said "no I am not Hispanic!" I asked her what she thought she was and she said "I don't know." So I said "well what do you think Daddy is?" She thought for a minute and then replied " He is BROWN!" I just laughed til I cried. My poor kids have no idea! People are just people to them. If you want to see why she said my husband was brown, just visit my profile and check out my pics. Lauren is the one with the devilish grin.
