My poor husband is getting frustrated with me, because this is my first time and things are growing slowly (not fast enough for him to get excited about me planing more stuff! lol)

So this is what i planted in seed containers this weekend:

Carrots (Nantes half long, and red cored chantenay)

Pumpkin (early sweet sugar pie, and jack-o-lantern)

Watermelon (Jubilee) - dont really think this is going to work out well.. but /shrug

Onion (granex hybrid, and white lisbon bunching) - i am really counting on these to go well

Corn (early sunglow hybrid, and honey and cream hybrid) now.. i have some (4 to be exact that survived the first frost) growing in the backyard.

I'm so excited that i planted more... i cant wait to see how they turn out =)

Carrots can take up to 2 weeks to germinate and show above the soil, so don't give up on them too quickly!  Some of the others can take a while too.  I thought our watermelon would take at least a week, but within 3 days I had little green leaves.

My advice:  cover the seed containers with plastic wrap to keep the heat and moisture in until the little green shoots show.  Once you see green, remove the plastic.  The babies need air!

Good luck!
