Something is growing (piog)

Just thought I'd share. I'm planting all my fruits and veggies from seed and it's still a bit too early to plant most things up here in Iowa, but my Kale is loving this cool weather. (I know there are probably too many plants in there, but I didn't trust myself that anything would grow)

I just planted peas and herbs and I'm waiting for my strawberries to pop up (I started them late)

I'm doing container gardening for the fruits and veggies so that the deer don't browse.

Within the next couple weeks I should be able to plant everything else I have lined up.

How exciting!  We don't have deer, but our neighbors seem to be just as bad...they stole our pumpkins!

Your seedlings look great!

Isn't it wonderful to grow your own veggies!

I too, have been planting veggie seeds in containers so we will have some chemical-free greens this summer:

cilantro (corriander)

lettuce

I love growing my veggies in containers!  No slugs or snails bother them.

Kale is a cool-season crop that

should be planted in early spring or late

fall. It is sometimes called “flowering cabbage” and makes a good border for flower

beds or sidewalks.
