What is a good kind to buy? I am in the middle of Michigan.
TIA
Caren
Hi Caren! I'm in the northern half of the LP, in Missaukee County!
Rhubarb is pretty hardy. If you're buying from a local nursery, the plants should be hardy enough for your area. If you're ordering online, I would be sure to stick with something that's hardy to Zone 4.
my rhubarb has a few leaves on it! i love watching it grow! works so well with flowers around it and tastes so good!
heres a neat site from michigan http://www.manytracks.com/Garden/Rhubarb.htm
Where I live(in upstate NY) this stuff grows like wild fire...I am sure it is not local or wild, but all it takes is one plant and you have a field of it, lol. So I have never had to buy it here.
