do butternut and hubard squash climb when they grow?  I accidently bought an extra cattle panel and was thinking maybe I could put it in the garden and let squash grow up it.

I now pickles do But we don't eat much pickles.

I had a huge change in budget and I have to have a garden and can this year.  So I will have a lot of questions!

I believe they will with training.  I'm not sure if the vines are strong enough to hold a fully grown squash, though.  You may have to put them in pantyhose "hammocks" for the extra support.

I agree, definitely will need some support.
