What zone are you in? I'm in Zone 4/5 and the usual plant date is mid-May, with occassional patchy frosts and covering. It depends what you're growing though, pumpkins, melons, squash, etc. may not have time to fully mature. That still leaves you a lot that you can plant, lettuces, herbs, peas, green beans, tomatoes, peppers should all be fine but tomatoes and peppers you would need to buy starts instead of from seed. Those are generally recommended to start indoors several weeks before you intend to plant. If you did want to do squash, melons, I would buy starts on those too but you may have trouble finding them in stores, might have some luck at farmer's market type stores.
A lot of it depends on what you're planting. I chose not to replant when my garden flooded and I lost everything. Its just too hot to try now. I'm preparing for it cools down though. There are some advantages of living in AZ.
