My squash plant started having mold problems & died. I know I wasn't over watering. What would make the squash get moody on the vine? I picked them off as soon as I saw the mold, but it still killed the whole plant. Any ideas?

Bacterial/fungal infections are what cause the mold.  Was the mold a white powdery looking spot on the leaves?

Sometimes the only thing you can do is remove the infected plant to keep the mold from spreading.
