Does your area hold a corn festival?
We went to our local festival this year. Finally. I say "finally" because in the nearly ten years we've been here, we got our act together and put it on the calendar so we would plan for it.
I was a bit disappointed, actually.
The line for corn was over an hour long. That's for raw corn at $.10 an ear. Since we have some corn growing in our garden this year, I decided it wasn't worth waiting in 85 degree heat to lug home a box.
How's the corn doing in your area?
We don't have a corn festival.
We got some serious rain in July and that seems to have revived the corn fields. They're good and green and tall, and they're producing ears. It remains to be seen if the amount of the harvest will be the same as other years.
I'm glad to hear that. I hope they come through.
So many farmers fields are burnt. :(
