Hi I'm Emily I have 3 boys and a husband. We started our garden a bit late and the kids decided to grow pumpkins. They are growing wonderfuly but they are yellow. Will they turn orange at all? The biggest is the size of a basketball and the other isn't much smaller. They sound very hallow when tapped on I just hope they are ready for halloween.

Welcome!! I like your dancing robot, cute.

If you click on blue bar above...."other forums", there is a specific "autumn/fall gardening section, that may be of interest.

Here's a link addressing pumpkins:

Thank you there was alot of information there but didn't really give me an answer. I've tried to google my question but haven't found any answers that way either.

Pumpkins are green until they turn orange...they're never yellow unless they are a squash. Do you know what variety they are?

Its supposed to be a giant pumpkin. My kids got a veggi tales pumpkin kit. And from the info I've read a mixta pumpkin starts yellow and then turns orange.

Early to mid June. Right when the pack said to start them.

Thank you that was helpful. I started about a month late according to that site and giant pumpkins start yellow apparently.
