I'm just going to dive in to this gardening thing. I am going to do all plastic containers. I have Miracle grow potting mix, a couple of pots, and seeds/ seedlings. I've got peppers, carrots, Cantaloupe, watermelon, pumpkins, corn, BlackBerries, raspberries, blueberries, as well as purple and white Onion bulbs. What do I need to add to make the soil better? Any quick advice? I am not worried about organic or non gm right now. I just want to see if I can do this. Oh yeah I live in Wisconsin.

I'd add equal amounts of garden soil (can also buy in bags) to your potting mix, and you'll need more containers than a couple of pots.  What container ideas did you have for planting these?

Some of those deep several gallon storage tubs from Walmart. I have yet to find a garden center here. Just Walmart and menards.

My raised bed plan may have to be delayed a year, so I'm thinking of doing containers as well this year. I'm really excited about this!
