hello. my name is jasmine and im new to gardening. well i did have a cilantro plant but it died not too long ago (at least it didnt die within a few weeks), a mint plant but ants and not sure what else have been eating it all, and i still have my basil plant. i would love to grow my own veggies but i just dont know how to start. i live with my grams so i cant grow anything in the ground also bc she has dogs. she was telling me about a box but i would have to put it up high somewhere so they dont get into it. can anyone help me with my herb plants please. i dont want them to be eaten anymore. they are outside on the porch in pots.

Welcome to the group. Put a sour cream container filled about 1/5 full of beer by your plants. Mix corn meal and honey for the ants. I also container plant and learned the hard way herbs need a bigger container and only water once a week unless its real hot then 2 x a week.

What does the cornmeal do to the ants?
