Music

How do I add Music to my page- Project Playlist:

Go to www.projectplaylist.com and create a profile. then create a playlist.

Click on search music, you can enter whatever song you wish to find. then there will be options to add music to your playlist.

Copy the code from there, then head back to cafemom. click on "Add widget" There is a widget there for that. You will then paste the code in the box.



Music Widget- General:
         
Here is how to add a Music widget to your CafeMom profile or homepage:
Go to your CafeMom home page
Click on the ADD A WIDGET button
On the left beneath categories click MUSIC
Click the LEARN MORE button beneath the Music widget you want to add.
Beneath the sample click the Add this widget button.
On step 1 click the link to go to that widgets home page and create your music widget.
This should open up a new browser window for that website.
Copy the HTML code and return to your CafeMom account.
Paste the code into the box provided on the Music Widget details page.
Edit your privacy settings for that widget.
Click Save widget.

You can then return to your page and check out your new setting.

Guestbook
Tickers
Blinkies

Guestbook Widget:

Here is how to add a Guestbook to your CafeMom profile or homepage:
Login to your CafeMom account.
Click the button ADD A WIDGET.
On the left click MORE ABOUT ME.
Scroll down to Guestbook by SLIDE.COM.
Click LEARN MORE beneath Slide.com.
Beneath the sample click ADD THIS WIDGET.
On the next page click on the link in step 1 to open a new window for http://www.slide.com/guest_arrange
Create your guestbook on that site.
Click SAVE to get your code.
On step 2 for Slide.com you can join the site or you can skip sign up.
On step 3 on Slide.com toward the lower left click MORE.
On the next page scroll to the bottom and click "CAN'T FIND WHAT YOU'RE LOOKING FOR? CLICK HERE"
On the next page copy the code in the box.
Return to the Guest book widget details page on your CafeMom account.
Paste the code in the box provided.
Click SAVE.



Ticker Widgets:


Here is how to add a Ticker Widget to your CafeMom profile or homepage:
Login to your CafeMom account.
Click on ADD A WIDGET.
Toward the left beneath categories click on TICKERS.
Click LEARN MORE beneath the ticker you want to add.
Click ADD THIS WIDGET to get started creating your widget.
Open up a new window, go to the ticker site, create your widget and copy the HTML code.
Return to your CafeMom account. You should still be on the Ticker Widget Details Page.
Paste the code in the box toward the bottom.
Set your Ticker Widget privacy settings.
Click SAVE WIDGET.

We currently support the addition of tickers from the following sites:

How do I add Blinkies to my page?

To add blinkies onto your homepage, you will need to start by adding the Rich-text widget.  To add that widget to your homepage (or your profile page -- it works the same way), click the 'Add a widget' button that is underneath your profile picture on your homepage.

You'll get to the 'Widget Directory', which is a list of all of the widgets that CafeMom has right now (we'll be adding lots more). Pick the 'Advanced' category, and then look through the different ones available in that category. Choose the 'Rich-text' option and click the 'Learn More' button.

Then you can read about the widget and see a sample of what it might look like. Click the 'Add this widget' button if you are ready to start setting it up.

Open a new browser window.
You will have to come back to your CafeMom account in a bit.
In the new browser window, go to www.glitter-graphics.com (or www.blinkyou.com).
(For this example we went to www.glitter-graphics.com and clicked on blinkies in the left column).
Choose your blinkie.
On the preview page for your blinkie, scroll down and click in the box with the HTML code.
Copy that code (control + c).
Return to your CafeMom account.
Paste the HTML code in the 'Paste Code Here' box.
Click 'Save Widget'.
When you return to your homepage, you will only see the code that you pasted.
To preview the blinkie, click on the 'Edit' button at the top of the widget.
Go back to your homepage or profile page, and you should see the blinkie.

Slideshows and Video Widgets

Slideshow Widget:

1. Click on "ADD A WIDGET" on your "HOMEPAGE" to access the CafeMom Widget Directory.
2. Click on the "PHOTOS/SLIDESHOWS" link on the left of the Directory page.
3. Choose the site where you would like to host your Slideshow.
4. Click on the "LEARN MORE" button.
5. Click on the "CREATE YOUR OWN" button located on the sample slideshow.
6. A new window will open offering option for you to upload your photos.
7. After you create your slideshow, copy your slide show code that is located on that page.
8. Then return to your to the CafeMom page where you read the directions for setting up that widget. There is a yellow box on that page where you paste the code into.
9. Give your widget a title, decide where you want the widget to appear and set the privacy for the widget.
10. Click the Save Widget button.

How to add the "Rock You" slideshow Widget:

Here is how to get to the slideshow instructions for Rockyou.com
1. Go to your homepage.
2. Below your profile photo click on the blue button that says Add a Widget.
3. On the left click Photos + Slideshows.
4. Scroll down to Slideshow by RockYou and click Learn More.
5. Below the sample slideshow click "Add this Widget".
6. The next page tells you how to copy the code to add a RockYou slideshow to your CafeMom page. Follow those instructions to add the RockYou widget to your homepage and/or profile page.


Here's how to get to the instructions for how to add a VIDEO widget to your CafeMom page:
   
1. Go to your homepage
2. Click on the blue button beneath your profile photo that says "Add a Widget"
3. On the left click on Videos. You can add a video you have on YouTube, PhotoBucket or Vimeo.
4. Click Learn more beside the site of your choice.
5. Beneath the sample video click "Add this widget".
6. The next page will give you the instructions on how to copy the code to add the video to your CafeMom home and/or profile pages.


Currently you can add video to your page, using one of the video widgets. We support video from:

YouTube
PhotoBucket
Vimeo

Showdowns Widget:

Display the most recent showdowns you're participating in, plus have a quick way to keep track of your friends' showdowns.

To add the showdowns widget to your homepage (or your profile page  - it works the same way), click the "Add a widget" button that is underneath your profile picture on your homepage.

You'll get to the "Widget Directory" which is a list of all of the widgets that CafeMom has right now (we'll be adding lots more). Pick the CafeMom category, and then look through the different ones available in that category. Choose the "showdowns" widget click the "Learn More" button.

Then you can read about the widget and see a sample of what it might look like. Click the "Add this widget" button if you are ready to start setting it up.

Then you can just name your widget, set privacy options, and control which pages you want the widget to appear on, and it's all set up!


Polls Widget:

With this widget you can display the polls you have made and keep track of your friends polls too!


To add the polls widget to your homepage (or your profile page  - it works the same way), click the "Add a widget" button that is underneath your profile picture on your homepage.

You'll get to the "Widget Directory" which is a list of all of the widgets that CafeMom has right now (we'll be adding lots more). Pick the CafeMom category, and then look through the different ones available in that category. Choose the "polls" widget click the "Learn More" button.

Then you can read about the widget and see a sample of what it might look like. Click the "Add this widget" button if you are ready to start setting it up.

Then you can just name your widget, set privacy options, and control which pages you want the widget to appear on, and it's all set up!

Clock Widget:

Make your homepage come alive with a cool selection of skins, see the date and time with style.

Here is how to add the Clock widget to your page:

Log into CafeMom.

Click the 'Home' tab.

Click on the 'Add A Widget' button underneath your profile picture.

On the left of the CafeMom Widget Directory page, you will see Categories.

Click on the 'New' category.

Scroll down to the Clock widget on the first page.

Click the 'Learn more' button.

Click 'Add This Widget'.

Go to http://www.labpixies.com/campaigns/clock/clock_gallery.php in a new browser window or tab to choose your skin.

Then go to http://www.labpixies.com/gadget_page.php?ID=27 in a new browser window or tab to embed your code.

Click on the button that says "embed code" to copy the code.

Copy the code.

Return to your homepage to check that the widget is now visible.

The Photo Scramble
Silly Face Maker
Memory Match Game

Photo Scramble:

To add the 'Photo Scramble' widget to your homepage (or your profile page - it works the same way), click the "Add a widget" button that is underneath your profile picture on your homepage.

Then you can just name your widget, set privacy options, and control which pages you want the widget to appear on, and it's all set up!


Silly Face Maker Widget:
Make a silly face using your favorite photo, and display it on your page.

Here is how to add the Silly Faces widget to your page:

Click on the 'Add A Widget' button underneath your profile picture.
On the left of the CafeMom Widget Directory page, you will see Categories.
Click on the Photos/Slideshows category.
Scroll down to the Silly Faces widget on the first page.
Click the 'Learn more' button.
Click 'Add This Widget'.
Select the photo you want to use (the photo must be uploaded to CafeMom, and be marked as "global")
Pick what effects you want your photo to have.
Click "Save Photo"

Return to your homepage to check that the widget is now visible.


Memory Match Game:
Flip over the cards and try to make matches as fast as you can and in as few moves as possible. Customize the game by picking your own photos for the cards.

Here is how to add the Memory Match Game widget to your page:

Log into CafeMom.
Click the 'Home' tab.
Click on the 'Add A Widget' button underneath your profile picture.
On the left of the CafeMom Widget Directory page, you will see Categories.
Click on the Photos/Slideshows category.
Scroll down to the Memory Match Game widget on the first page.
Click the 'Learn more' button.
Click 'Add This Widget'.
If you want the match game to be customized with your own photos, select the photos you would like to use.
Click "Save Widget"

Hot List:

Stay up to date! This widget displays the 5 most popular or recent Hot List items.

To add the 'Hot List' widget to your homepage (or your profile page -- it works the same way), click the 'Add A Widget' button that is underneath your profile picture on your homepage.

You'll get to the 'Widget Directory' which is a list of all of the widgets that CafeMom has right now (we'll be adding lots more). Pick the 'Advanced' catergory, and then look through the different ones available in that category. Choose the 'Hot List' widget and click the 'Learn More' button.

Then you can read about the widget and see a sample of what it might look like. Click the 'Add This Widget' button if you are ready to start setting it up.  Choose what kind of Hot List items you would like to view, then you can just name your widget, set privacy options, and control which pages you want the widget to appear on, and it's all set up!


Hot List: My Submitted Items:

To add the 'Hot List- My Submitted Items' widget to your homepage (or your profile page -- it works the same way), click the 'Add A Widget' button that is underneath your profile picture on your homepage.

You'll get to the 'Widget Directory' which is a list of all of the widgets that CafeMom has right now (we'll be adding lots more). Pick the 'CafeMom' catergory, and then look through the different ones available in that category. Choose the 'Hot List- My Submitted Items' widget and click the 'Learn More' button.

Then you can read about the widget and see a sample of what it might look like. Click the 'Add This Widget' button if you are ready to start setting it up. 

Then you can just name your widget, set privacy options, and control which pages you want the widget to appear on, and it's all set up!

Political Button and My Cause Widgets

Politcal Button Widget:
Add a virtual campaign button to your profile page to show your support for a Presidential candidate.

To add the Political Button widget to your homepage (or your profile page -- it works the same way), click the 'Add A Widget' button that is underneath your profile picture on your homepage.

You'll get to the 'Widget Directory' which is a list of all of the widgets that CafeMom has right now (we'll be adding lots more). Pick the "Graphics and Sparkle Text" category that you are interested in, and then look through the different ones available in that category. Choose the Political Button widget and click the 'Learn More' button.

Then you can read about the widget and see a sample of what it might look like. Click the 'Add This Widget' button if you are ready to start setting it up.  Select the button you want to display.

Then you can just name your widget, set privacy options, and control which pages you want the widget to appear on, and it's all set up!


My Cause Widget:

When you would like to show your support for a good cause, you can make a virtual button from an image you've uploaded to CafeMom and add helpful links for others to learn more.

To add the My Cause widget to your homepage (or your profile page - it works the same way), click the "Add a widget" button that is underneath your profile picture on your homepage.

You'll get to the "Widget Directory" which is a list of all of the widgets that CafeMom has right now (we'll be adding lots more). Pick the CafeMom category, and then look through the different ones available in that category. Choose the "My Cause" widget and click the "Learn More" button.

Then you can read about the widget and see a sample of what it might look like. Click the "Add this widget" button if you are ready to start setting it up. Remember that you will need to have a photo uploaded to your CafeMom page to put in your "good cause button".

After following the instructions provided, you can just name your widget, set privacy options, and control which pages you want the widget to appear on, and it's all set up!

Missing Children Alert:

Stay informed with Missing Child Alerts from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.




To add the "Missing Children Alert" widget to your homepage (or your profile page -- it works the same way), click the 'Add A Widget' button that is underneath your profile picture on your homepage.

You'll get to the 'Widget Directory' which is a list of all of the widgets that CafeMom has right now (we'll be adding lots more). Pick the "News and Info" category, and then look through the different ones available in that category. Choose the Missing Children Alert Widget and click the 'Learn More' button.

Toy Recalls Widget:

Track the latest child-related product recalls and safety news from from the US Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Bubbles Game Widget:
