Well my soon to be 24 month old (Sep 22) she'll be 2 years old. Anyways. My other kids potty trained with no problem! But Chloe is driving me nuts! I want to potty train her but when I sit her on the potty she screams. I figured it was time to potty train because EVERYTIME no lie she pees/poops she takes it off before I get to her! Even just one pee she takes it off. So do you ladies have ideas to help me out? or is she going threw a fase and not ready for potty time?

by LDSMOMMIE84 on Sep. 5, 2008 at 9:47 AMLOL...you sound like me...i have 4 kids and one on the way and I STILL NEED HELP TO!! Hahah...honestly it sounds to me like she is not ready yet..the potty may scare her...my son is 2 1/2 and is just now really getting into the whole going potty thing...i tried a few month ago and he just was not ready..he would scream and cry and so i just waited till he was ready..when he was i bought him his on seat...well its technically the little seat that goes over the big potty..it has spider man on it and he loves to use it..if he just sits on the potty but does not go..but atleast sits on it and gives it a try i give him a spider man sticker...when he actually goes he gets the sticker and a sucker..my girls were much easier to train then my son..lol and i still have my 15 month old son to train..YAY!! lol and then depending on what this new baby is going to be..i will have to do it all over again... |

by mamafor6 on Sep. 5, 2008 at 9:50 AMTry letting her see you on it, Let her watch you pee on the potty and make a big deal about you peeing on the potty. That is what I did with mine then she saw it as a game and two months later POTTY TRAINED YEAH Quoting ohiomamma: |

by orcadarwin on Sep. 5, 2008 at 9:50 AMSorry, I can't be of any help. I'm having trouble getting my 3 year old to potty train. He would rather walk around in wet underwear all day, then go to the potty. |

by Lsmom on Sep. 5, 2008 at 10:03 AMI would say she just is not ready yet. Is there something going on in her life at all that could be causing her to want to be "babyish" such as a new baby, a move, etc? I know that my dd was pretty mush potty trained at 24 months and then we had her sister....and she went backwards to where she was completely back in diapers. If I tried to take her to the potty she threw a fit and would scream on the potty....and hardly ever went anyway. So, I just let it go. We waited, and she went back to diapers, compeltely back to diapers. It was frustrating for me, but she just was not ready....she had regressed because of the new baby, and she just needed a little time and understanding. So that is what we did. For several months she was in dipaers again. Then I decided to try again. I made her a sticker chart and told her that for trying, she got to pick out a sticker and put it on the chart. For pee she got two stickers, and for poop she got three stickers. This got her interested....and started the whole process again. At first she didnt go, just sat down and said "nope dont have to" and then got a sticker. I still made a huge deal out of it though and told her how big she was. Soon enough she was peeing and then came the poop! yay! I was so excited! This was all int he last month or so, and now she is waking up at night to tell me she has to pee! YIPPEE!! She is also telling me when we are out in public.....so she is pretty much trained now. So, there it hope....just give her some time and understanding, and when she is ready try the stickers. oh and I also used these little training pants by Kushies....rather than pullups, etc. because they can feel the wetness like underwear, but they absorb more like a diaper. So when she is ready they are great too. here is a pic http://www.kushiesonline.com/Waterproof-Pull-On-Training-Pant-p/d1502-d1506.htm |
