The CafeMom Newcomers Club
I am sick and tired of people digging in my trash! I KNOW for a FACT they are not looking for food. I know this because I left some cans of food and non-perishables next to the dumpster and 4 groups of people came to dig in my trash and NONE of them took any of it.
I have been homeless before and broke, so I know what its like to need money and be desperate, but if you have enough energy to go around with a cart on a bike or in a wagen looking through peoples trash, you can go get a DAMN JOB.
I know someone on here is gonna tell me I don't have a heart. Well, I do. I just don't want to feel violated day after day all day with strange people hanging around my property when I have a young child at home. I also don't want my things, even if they are trash, rummaged through. Andno, there are not cans or other recyclables in there. I recycle them myself!
UGH.

by metalmomma25 on Oct. 6, 2008 at 7:07 PMThey aren't though. One guy today took a bag of trash I just threw out 5 mins before that and held it upside down and dumped it out. I tried putting up a no-trespassing sign and they just tear it away and get rid of it. I even have asked nicely not to do this and I get yelled at and told that its public property and they can do whatever they want. I pay for the trash pickup and its my can. How is that public property? Quoting Ziggy.Stardust: |

by Mandee239 on Oct. 6, 2008 at 7:11 PMThey are probly looking for things to scrap. ALOT of people around here have been doing it cuz you can get alot of money and its so hard to get a job aorund here right now. They are probly jsut looking for medal things to cash in. In the past few months we've seen the same 5 trucks going going around our neighborhood only on trash nights, and they occasionally stop to look through our garbage. It is annoying if they leave a big mess. otherwise it doesnt bother me but it would if i was here alone. i understand the whole not wanting strangers in your yard while your home alone with your young child.

by sanderson_7 on Oct. 6, 2008 at 7:12 PMI don't blame you! I know around here it has been on the news several times that people are sifting through trash and getting outher people's personal infor and in some cases using what they find. And I would feel uneasy about them being outside too. Is there anyway you can leave your trash cans inside a garage or shed or something until trash day? Or report it to the police and ask them to do random drive throughs to check on the situation.
AND MAKE SURE YOU SHRED ANYTHING THAT HAS ANY SORT OF INFO ON IT BEFORE YOU TRASH IT!
