My DH has been in the Navy for 7yrs, and the benefits are better than the pay. He got a full college scholarship (enlisted to officer program STA-21)  to be a pilot so of course he is very happy. I think the lifestyle is tough, but you get used to it quick. The best part are the places you get to live San Diego, Hawaii, Newport RI - beautiful areas right on the ocean. I can't wait till he is done with training, and we get to chose our next place.

I'm currently active duty so I'll try to help you with your questions.

what should i expect if he gets in? Expect a lot of moving around, weird working hours, and possibly him going out on deployments and being away for extended periods of time.

what r the pro's an con's? Some pros are recieving BAH(Basic Allowance for housing), and all the medical benifits...Some cons being deployed for months at a time, being at risk of going IA, unusual working hours.

do they treat them good?? Depends on what command he goes to, all commands are different, some treat their people good, others do not.

how much pay do they get?  Depends on if he is enlisted or officer, there are websites that show the pay charts...As he makes rank he'll get paid more money.

whats the hardest part of ur SO being in the navy or being in the navy?  Being away from family and working hours always changing and some of the people you work for.

My husband is in the navy has been for 6yrs, I was in myself until last yr. Was in for 5ys. We like the military life. The hardest part  are the deployments. Most only last 6months. boot camp is 8weeks then you have their "a" school depending on what rate they choose depends on how long it last.  Pay depends on rank. you can google military pay rate tables. You also get health care and housing allowance. Housing allowance depends on rank and where you live. It does take time to get used to the life style but we really like it. Good luck. My husband is a hospital corpsman, I was too. He's has been on two deployments and I had one. As a corpsman hes been stationed with the marines. I have never been stationed with the marines just in a hospital. We have been stationed in Camp lejeune, Beaufort,Sc and now New Orleans.

It depends on how long he is attached to the ship/unit he is working for....There are ports all over the place, you can have him talk to his recruiter before he comes in to see if he can get a guarenteed duty station and he'll get to pick his job. Basic is 8 wks long and his school depends on what job he choose.
