I just heard on the news that people in my town have been vandalizing political signs. I know people steal them from yards and all that, but these people have been cutting the "PALIN" out of the "MCCAIN/PALIN" signs and leaving them! I am probably the least political person on earth so id doesn't bother me one bit, I just think it is hilarious that they are taking the TIME to do that:) they must really dislike that woman!

I believe it. I saw an Obama sign that had the "N" word graffitied on it. It's crazy how many psychos are out there.

My sign was stolen, and the neighbor's sign (which is only 15 ft from where mine was and CLOSER to the road) was left alone. It was a McCain/Palin sign. Gee, I wonder who could've done it.

There are hardly ANY signs for Obama in my town, and since mine was stolen, I can only assume that many others have been as well. Especially since Ohio is now leaning Obama (I believe)

I love how someone's  trying to create a picture for everyone of McCain having a TON of supporters and Obama having none. Thus making them think "Hmm, all these people must have done their homework, so I should probably vote for him too..."

That or people are afraid to show support for Obama because of the hatefulness that has resulted from the other side thus far.

A man in the UK was shot for wearing an Obama shirt.

And that's not even IN the country where the election is taking place, which tells me if HE is that passionate about his hatred, what are some folks HERE going to do if he gets elected? WHAT are some people going to do before the election just as a display of their hatred?

BTW, I haven't seen any vandalized McCain signs or any removed from yards - I see them in the same yards every day......

can't wait to get mine! I'm voting complete opposite of my husband and can't wait to see his face when he sees this in the yard! At least I know who will take mine!

I saw the news about that guy in the UK. IMO, I don't think he was shot b/c he was wearing an Obama shirt. I think he was shot b/c he was black. That's what I got from it. Because the man walked right up to him and was already saying hateful things before he saw the shirt.

But, it is ridiculous when people steal political signs. Very childish.

I do worry about what would happen if (& I am hoping he will) Obama gets elected?  This election has really sparked alot of controversy.  And now I am noticing it's even getting attention in other countries.

Its not funny. This happened to various friends:

Quote:

Since putting up my McCain/Palin yard signs and bumper stickers I have had the following happen:

* Yard sign yanked out of the ground, wadded up and thrown in the gutter while I was out of the house on an errand 5-6 different times

* Yard sign actually stolen, along with about 30-40 other McCain yard signs in my neighborhood, all in the same night

* Was nearly side swiped as an Obama-stickered Volvo swerved past me and hung out of his window while screaming obscenities

* Had random man yell "Fascist pig!" at me while loading my groceries and my child into my car

* Had several different instances of black men and women yelling all sorts of racist things to me, such as "Go to hell, whitey!" and "M*****f****** cracker!", all while I have my child with me

Now I'm beyond angry and I'm going to start reporting these instances to the police. Yesterday my mailbox was vandalized (and I had a large envelope full of family pictures opened and thrown into a puddle), as were those of my two close neighbors, all of whom also have McCain signs in their yards.

And it's not like I live in a bad or crime-ridden area.

Quote:

My neighborhood had about 15 McCain signs in the yards and there were about 3 Obama signs. When we woke up this morning ALL of the McCain signs were gone. I really hate the idea of someone coming into my property and taking something that belongs to me!

Quote:

Well, we have officially joined the  club. actually, my entire neighborhood has. I just went to walk my dog and ever single McCain sign in my neighborhood (30 or so)are now MIA, including the one in my yard. My neighbors are all livid. My neighbors across the street, especially. They had just got their sign today.

Quote:

My neighbor's signs were stolen last night. She had a McCain/Palin sign along with the Republican candidate for NC governor (McCrory), and Elizabeth Dole for senate. The Dole sign was the only one not taken, it was destroyed tho....laying in a big crumpled heap. So far, my sign has not been messed with. People are getting really ridiculous.

Quote:

my entire block had our McCain sign stolen a few weeks ago.  I'm still waiting for our new signs to arrive, but everyone is putting the signs up again.  I was really mad that someone was awful enough to do that.

Quote:

Sometimes I really wonder what grade we are all living in!  Seriously!  I want to tell some people to just grow up!  I had my McCain/Palin sticker stolen off my car.  Isn't that what is supposed to make America great?  That we can all support who we want?  Seriously!  Makes me furious!!

Quote:

I have had my McCain/Palin sign ripped up twice last week.  So I was able to tape it back together and have it still look nice.  We put wire ties around it securing it to the wire post.  It hasn't been messed with
since.

When I was supporting McCain someone stole my magnet with his name on it off my car.  The jackass then scratched Obama into my paint.   It was not cheap to get it fixed so it wouldn't chip.  Some people are losers.
