I am also a FORMER Active Duty Mama.  I am now just a plain old veteran.  But I am so excited, I am telling everyone that my family has adopted a soldier (actually airman).  We were assigned an individual who is stationed in Nevada, but was sent to Iraq.  We are getting ready to send a care package to her.  We also are sending letters weekly to her.  Sending words of encouragement and praying for her daily and just supporting her.  We went to www.adoptaussolider.com.

I am a veteran of the army, and 70% disabled, it sucks I wish I was still in. I was a 25L (I installed phone and internet lines). I got out as a specialist E-4. My hubby has been in for 12 years and will be in for at least 15, he's deployed currently, so I am former army and an army wife. We used to rip on army wives so bad when I was in and for the most part I still am wary of hanging around them. I have a few other army vet friends to talk to, but most of my army friends are deployed. HOOAH, cheesy I know, but I miss it...

Oh poitically I am torn, there are things I like and hate about both guys, but I am from Illinois, and even though people hate when I say it, it doesn't matter if I vote or not here, Illinois always wins Democrat, especially now with Obama...It's the truth, Chicago leans the whole state that way becasue it is very very liberal...
