I know nothing about Miami, but we have a lot of family in Atlanta & it's beautiful there.  They all love it & I'd move there in a heartbeat....if I wasn't such a die hard Pittsburgher lol.

My husband and i looked into moving to miami a few years ago when he got a job offer down there.  Personally i think its to expensive and it wasnt for us.

We lived in southern ga for a few years and we liked it there.  Some of my friends live near atlanta and love it down there.  We currently live in western pa near pittsburgh, its not bad.  Nice place to live out where we are and its quiet.

I was actually born in N.Miami and raised all over Florida.  Now I live in the Atlanta area.  The thing about Miami and surrounding areas is that EVERYWHERE is busy.  Even the little towns.  Up here, you have the actual city of Atlanta and the counties surrounding.  Everything up here is by county, not really by city, unless you live in a larger city.  I LOVE it in GA.  We moved back to FL for a little while (Ft Myers area) and it only reminded me how much I hated it and we moved back up here.  It's beautiful, there are SEASONS, and if it snows it snows once or twice (last year was 3 times) and it doesn't stick longer than a day.  I would think between NYC and Miami you have the best of both worlds here.  It's busy but not in the outer areas.

Also, to add, there's barely ever any really harsh weather.  No hurricanes, no blizzards, nothing really like that.  There are tornados that touch down, but not very many.
