i swear i am going to go into shock! i just got a call back from my dad, i called him yesterday to ask him about Christmas and what he and his wife wanted to do for the boys and he didn't have enough time to talk to me and he actually called me back! That was a shock in of its self! lol. I wanted to know if he wanted ideas for the boys (he always does, he has no imagination) and to find out what budget they had set for them. well come to find out he was planning on spending $100 on each of the boys and asked if there was anything on our list of stuff we wanted to get the boys that was at the high end of the price list knowing that money is rather short for us this year. Well i am just so happy, i really wanted to get our 5yo one of those Leapster handheld systems (I'm hoping it will help him with his sight reading and some math skills) and we really wanted to get our 1yo one of those Elmo Live dolls, cause every time we have seen it at the store his face totally lights up! Well my dad is getting those two things for the boys so that we don't have to! this is the first time in history my Dad is doing something to make things easier for me. It makes me want to cry cause if my dad didn't do this for us that was going to be the only thing our boys were going to get for Christmas and now we can get them some other things like arts and craft stuff and some books that our oldest really could use.

by BrandonsMom1000 on Nov. 20, 2008 at 10:01 PMThat sounds really great. My Dad would is doing the same thing for us. They are buying both of my sons the Leapster 2 (How Cool!) On the other hand, my FIL will probably get them a lump of coal (of course his stubborn a__ has not seen them in a year). |

by northernmommy on Nov. 20, 2008 at 10:05 PMmy FIL adores our boys but he usualy can't afford much since he pays 75% of the household bills even though my SIL and nephew live with him and he usually ends up covering her bills too, then he blows the rest of his money on booze and cigarettes and my SIL bitches about it non stop, even though he is 65yo and perfectly capable of supporting her and making his own decisions. Don't mind me that situation just pisses me off lol and i'm on a happy high lol. i am just SO excited for christmas this year! i can't wait to see the kid's faces! My dad is even coming up here (they live about 4 hours south of us) the weekend before christmas just to be able to give the boys their gifts in person for a change! So that is a HUGE present in its self! Quoting BrandonsMom1000: |
