Ok this is for all you co sleeping mama's. My little girl will be three months old on thanksgiving well all the way up until Halloween she was sleeping in her own crib in her own room and then Halloween weekend we went and visited my mother in FL and we freakin forgot her Bassinett!!! So she sleept in the bed with us for three nights this was the first time she has ever slept with us!! Anyways when we got home she kept waking up after i would put her in her crib! I wasnt getting anysleep so every since then she has been sleeping with us! She sleeps 10 and a half hours at night!! I really like her sleeping with us!! I feel like shes safer! Well what this post is about is if you co sleep how long did your children sleep with you? Was it hard to get then to sleep on there own after co sleeping? THank you!!

we co slept until he was 11 months old. i got tired of him kicking me and crowding me in his sleep as he got bigger. he sleeps in his crib for the most part, but if he wakes up too early, he goes back to bed with me for an hour or two.  so i guess we still occasionally co sleep.

my daughter slept with us after moving across the country (i guess it was really hard on her) but she's been sleeping in her own room for the past few nights.  i just hope that she gets used to it.  wish us luck!

I always put my DD to bed in her own room. Usually she'll come in our bed at 4AM. I really need to put an end to the 4am thing, for I CANNOT sleep when she is in our bed. She's a space hog. :) :)

I co-slept with my youngest--but not on purpose--My husband took a job far away and we stayed behind for a year---she was barely one when she started sleeping with me----LOOOOOONG story short her matress is now on our bedroom floor she is 4---we finally could not keep her in our bed---she kicks my husband all night and he started to slepp downstairs----it got out of hand.........so she now sleeps on her matress next to our bed-----it is slow going but we will ge ther in her room eventually.

I love sleeping with her and miss her being beside me but at the same time I don't need my kid sleeping with me until she moves out-----LOL

I am a proud WAHM of two beautiful girls and married to my best friend, enjoying life one day at a time!!!!!

4-month-old dies in Canton Township while sleeping with his parents

by Susan Oppat | The Ann Arbor News
Monday November 17, 2008, 2:25 PM

Canton Township police are investigating whether a 4-month-old baby was accidentally smothered by his parents while he was sleeping in bed with them.

Officers were called to the Extended Stay Hotel on Haggerty Road at 4:13 a.m. on a report of a baby not breathing.

When they arrived, police said, the boy's father was performing CPR on the infant. Rescue workers transported the baby to an area hospital, where he was declared dead.

Officers said the baby's mother discovered he wasn't breathing after the three had been sleeping together, a practice called "co-sleeping," which state health officials have blamed for many infant deaths.

Police said there was no history of medical problems in the baby, and there were no visible signs of injury.

Five Wayne County infants suffocated in a single week last year while sleeping with an adult, three months after another five died in just two days.

In 2006, 65 Michigan children, 7 percent of all children who died under the age of 1, died while in bed with an adult, according to state figures.
