So today our family went to the Sears Portrait studio for some family holiday pictures.  It was a bit crowed when we got there but I understand it's a very busy time for them; so it's not a problem and we were seen close enough to our actual appointment time (about 10 minutes late) that if it was just that (running late)  there would be no reason for me to vent.

But this is where it gets kind of frustrating.

After our session we are waiting for them to upload our pictures to the computer to make our selections and for someone to go through with them for us. The wait time was over half an hour so in that time, some lady goes ballistic that her family had been waiting for an about 45 minutes to get their pictures taken. I mean she was practically STOMPING around and acting extremely rude to EVERYONE, then her husband joins in- he  is less rude but just as demanding- asking for a discount- even though they actually showed up 30 an hour early so they weren't really waiting for very long. And let me tell you how their attitudes stunk up the place and at one point the Grandmother (either the MIL or Mom of the Stompy rude B8TCH) charged past my 19 month old causing her to startle herself and fall down right in front of her. And then she pretty much steps over my daughter and sneers at her.

I couldn't believe it. If it were me, I would have offered any apology even though she didn't technically knock her down- she certainly did cause the fall. But to actually give a baby cut eye and to step over them??? I would have popped off it my little one was hurt, but she was no worse for the wear so I didn't see the point of making a hostile environment even more vilotile.

So after 40 minutes, finally one of the photographers comes up  to bring us to the computer and go through our pictures- but after a few minutes he gets someone to replace him so he can take pictures of the Baby Beater Granny Family..okay fine no problem.

So we start again with a new person and go through the selections. Now, I have to admit the pictures were nice and the person did help make some recommendations. We get to the end, and she sticks a CD in the computer to burn the images and says that someone else will come over to help us with the rest.. okay- fine. But I am starting to feel a bit past around.

So now someone else comes over to do the burning of the cd- but I guess the original one was jacked up because she takes it out and goes to get another one. So she looks around and comes back with another disc and goes through the images again to burn but takes out the 'collage image' and one of the ones we got a board for saying that those images aren't included in the CD. So my MIL starts complaining since the collage and enhancements were part of the package we bought so it should be included in the cd. I tell my MIL to just drop it as we have been there for over and hour and a half at this point and at the end of the day we can always scan the photo if we want to put it one the net or make copies. But, after giving it some thought, it actually is pretty stupid.

So are finally done and we are waiting to pay.( I happen to notice the customer in front of me was almost accidentally over charged $40 for a sitting fee.)

I pay for the Christmas cards we ordered (we had a giftcard for the package we got- this was over and above) and the girl almost forgets to give us our CD. My MIL jokes 'Boy that was a close call' and the girl jokes back that they have it down to a system. So hey..no harm done right?

So we get home, and my DH goes to get the cd to upload the images and the CD case is FRICKING EMPTY. The only thing I can think of is that when she got the replacement CD, she must have put our burned CD in the other case and inadvertently picked up the empty one.

By this time, the store is closed so I will have to wait till the store opens tomorrow to try and get this sorted out. I am gonna pop if the images can't be retrieved.

I am definitely going to demand a new sitting with a CD.

What? That is crazy, where are you located? Here in So Ca we got a package for $149.99 which include 10 sheets ( so possibly 10 8x10s or 2 5x7s or wallet sizes) and a 10X3 plus the CD.

I guess I am not the onlyone who deserves a refund, it sounds like you got ripped off.

OMG girl! I keep telling myself to go earlier every yrar but never do. LOL. I went to Wal-mart Sunday, and walked out after an hour. (only one family ahead of me). So, I went to Sears Monday, kept my DD out of school mind you, just so I would have an appt. I get there, they LOST the appt. After finally finding it on the computer, this one lady that was a walk-in started cursing about me going before her. I keep saying I'm going to do it different next year! It just sneaks up!

Don't you know it, the pictures and cards won't be in until Dec 5th. I that doesn't give me much time to write and mail them out- and some have to go to Canada and overseas.

I just had to add that the *$9.99* 32 pack portrait costed $14.50 more for the sitting fee and $20 mor for one extra 8x10. $64+ inc. tax. Ridiculous.

My sister and I just recently went to Sears to have our daugthers pictures taken together and of them individually. We each had a coupon for a $4.99 package which includes the sitting fee, and 36 portraits (all the same pose). We also had another coupon for a $9.99 package. So we get there and they tell us we can't use more than one coupon per customer, per day. And that since we only made one appointment we wern't soposta be able to use more than one coupon at all. But they let us each have our 4.99 coupons for our girls individuals. But for the package of the girls together we would have to pay 7.99 per each sheet (up to 6 sheets) and 2.99 per sheet after the six. So we went with that. She never told us that there would be another sitting fee for that third package, my sis even asked her and she said No. At the end we ended up having to pay a 14.99 sitting fee for that third package. We ended up getting out of there pretty cheep compared to you guys. I paid for my half just about 50 dollars because I got two of the proof sheets which come with 6 wallet size proofs of your choice and cost 15 each. Anyway, Over all with my experiance I didnt like it. The girl that was helping us didn't know what the hell she was doing and messed up on hella shit. Plus they only took 9 poses of my daugther all together for me to chose from. If you all know, it is hard to get a 18 month old to smile when you want and to pose how you want. you need to take more than nine photos of her all together. And two of the photos were blurry, some were off center, and she wasn't smiling in all, and in one she has her mouth open so wide! lol  I say fuck Sears Photo! Im going to Lee's Photography from now on!!

hmm that's strange. I've never had any problem with them, and that's where I always go (except I didn't like our last photographer because she put this tacky blanket in the photos). But you can actually save the pics from their website so you don't really need to order the CD, just so you know next time.

Note the tacky blanket. I wanted to say something but I decided to just trust the photographer. My baby is really only good for one shoot, so next time I'll definitely say something.

I get a package for $10 no sitting fee. They put those coupons in baby and parents magazines all the time. I have a collection of them. That doesn't include the CD, though.
