so a few months back a friend of mine (who was my MOH cause she introduced my hubby and i) asked me to be a bridesmaid in her wedding in April. i was married just over a year ago and i know for us it took alot of planning and time for the wedding and reception to be planned out. The only thing my friend has done is order her dress and tell us what dress she wants us to where (my SIL says David's Bridal is requiring us to order our dresses by the end of this month) she has not set any form of budget she has not booked where the reception is supposed to be, the church she hasn't even come up with a rudementary guest list! The happy couple were together for 6 weeks before they got engaged, i'm not trying to be judgemental my hubby and i were together for 3 months before we were engaged, but every time i have seen her lately she has been piss drunk and i can't get a strait answer out of her about anything.
i just can't help but get this feeling that i'm going to be spending $155 on a dress i'll never wear and i really can't afford to do that. i've tried to help her plan this, i've gotten her catalogs from places i found helpful, she came over here one time to look at stuff on my computer, i've tried to encourage the process. I'm afraid for her that she won't get the wedding she hopes for because they are not doing anything yet. 5 months really isn't that much time to get things together around here cause it involves alot of traveling out of town. we live out in the middle of nowhere! Is there anything else i can do or should i spend the money hope for the best? i'm at a complete loss!

could you return the dress if you dont remove tags if you want to later if that the weddign doesnt happen???

according to the website they don't take returns for items purchased in store, and that is the only way i can get the dress.

OMG dont order your dress!! I had an issue with DB for my bridesmaid dress and I spent $150 on it! I needed to return it which i hadnt even recieved it yet but i just wanted to get it done so i didnt have to mail it back to them...well the assholes said that we only do returns if it is ordered online...well i said that is not what it says on your website...(which it does now...thanks to me) but in the end i won and got my money back....even though i wasnt supposed to. I wouldnt order that dress....if it was me....

i just know that if i don't get the dress and the wedding does happen i am going to feel like crap. i'm gonna have enough going on at that time cause i'm due 3 weeks before the wedding date.

ugh...that sucks....i really dont know what to tell you...is there a way to find another dress that is similar...at another store and is able to be taken back if the wedding doesnt happen....i dont trust DB as far as i could throw them...which is nowhere....i have a book that is only about the evils of DB...lol....they are the worst bridal shop in my mind....no offense to anyone who has great experience with them....im just predjudice against them.

we live out in the middle of nowhere, DB is 2 hours away as it is the only other bridal store near me is even worse than DB and can't be trusted to get you your dress before the wedding even if it is ordered a year in advance. so i'm kinda stuck with DB. and it is a very specific dress that she wants, actually it was the one i told her i liked from the picture cause i figured it wouldn't show my baby gut as much.

So that sucks more...and why is it that you cant order it online?is it a dress they dont sell online?ugh....its horrible that you only have DB near you...i have DB and few other bridal stores but im making my wedding dress. screw the bridal industry they arent taking my money....and im not having any bridesmaids so im good...lol....

of course its my luck that its a dress that they only sell in stores, since my hubby finally got a credit card i've been finding it so much easier to be able to order things i can't get in town over the net instead of driving an hour or more to get it. I got my dress and bridesmaid dresses from DB but we got lucky that time. although they did screw up one of my flower girl dresses it came in 2 days before the wedding and we had ordered a 3T well the girl who took the order, ordered a child's 3 so it was huge! lucky for us my hubby's friend's mother is a avid seamstress and fixed it for us with a day to spare!

i dont understand why you would need to order it by the end of this month...i mean when i got married, my sis was due the month before and waited till after she had her daughter to get her dress.

go in store and figure out what size you need, then go online and order it! that way you can return it.
