While I agree that it is wrong to dilute formula (for obvious reasons) I think it is ridiculous that people want to spend so much time ostrisizing this women.

She isn't the first...she won't be the last.

Desperate times call for desperate measures. Times are hard for so many.

Instead of ostrisizing this woman why not think of way to help parents that are in this situation.

After all it is not like she was purposely trying to starve the baby.

This is no different then the thousands of elderly people who cut their pills in half to make them last because of the cost but no one seems to give a damn about that..................

Guess it doesn't matter since they "lead their life...huh"

Sorry, but she looks like she has been on drugs. And I dont see how she wasn't getting enough formula from WIC? when they supply the right amount. Was she selling it for drug money? Even though I do think they need a warning label, because even though I never diluted the bottles, I never knew this could happen

wow, nice judgement there... yea, clearly she was selling the formula for drugs

WIC gives you xx amount of formula, and many times that is not enough to last the whole month, especially if your child eats more than they calculate, or if they are going through a growth spurt

you too! Oh but WIC dosent always give you enought to get through the week. I am glad that I am not the only one that can tell if someone been on drugs or not. Anywho I am soory to the previous poster but there is no reason to starve yoour child in america. THere are churches, food banks and she could have talked to her welfare worker. She was not being a good mother in doing that to her son. Shoot I got free formula from formula companies and I breastfeed my children. So if she would have tried she could have gottne help. I can actually understadn cutting your pills in half, but not this.

Have YOU been there?  Have YOU tried it?  Have YOU ever had to wonder how you are going to feed your baby because you have no money?

If not then you HAVE no idea how easy or how hard it is.

Let me also add this: Their are kids starving in this country EVERYDAY.  There isn't enough help and it isn't always that easy to obtain.

This is why more money should be put into educating women on breastfeeding, it is absolutely disgusting that any child should ever starve when they have a mother near by with an unlimited supply of milk.
