Anytime we go to a play centre or park he tends to follow just one kid around the whole time. It's never another kid following him? Don't get me wrong i want him to lead sometimes at least not follow another kid around all the time. Should this be a concern of mine? I remember being a social leper when i was at school i so do not want this for him. Any ideas.

by rarara11 on Dec. 2, 2008 at 3:59 PMMy son does this. He is two tho. Does your son have any siblings? How often does he get to play with other children?

by Carolbrady100 on Dec. 2, 2008 at 4:00 PMIt is normal, be happy that he is interacting and wanting to make friends. That says a lot! I would worry more if he wasn't. It actually shows that he is confidant by putting himself out there! |

nothing to be worried about just watch when he gets older that he doesn't just go long with whatever the other person says. my brother was like that and he got into trouble for stuff like tipping over the playgrounds portapotty for throwing stuff at cars out the bus window and looking at some very explicet things on the internet when he was younger until he learned a sense of judging things for for himself. but that doesn't mean he'll be a social outcast infact my brother was more popular than i was so don't worry.
