by lovepink26 on Dec. 4, 2008 at 12:54 AMI would tell him that the reason why the baby cries is because they NEED something... bottle, diaper change, paci, attention, etc and the way that your baby builds TRUST is when you fulfill their need when they cry. Good luck. Kristen- Mommy to Addison 03/12/08 In NH

by 3earthangels on Dec. 4, 2008 at 12:56 AMI am against CIO for babies 12 months and under. I did use it for my older two for bedtime only and it only lasted a few days. I don't know if I'll have to use it for my youngest b/c she already goes to bed without fussing and is 11 months old. IMO if the CIO method hasn't worked within 2 weeks it's not going to and it's time to find a new method. But then again I might just have weird kids that it worked very quickly with. by katie2007709 on Dec. 4, 2008 at 12:58 AMi had this same argument with DH and my MIL who lives with us FOREVER... but because I woke up with the baby and I put her to sleep, I got my way.... Starting like 8 1/2 months we started CIO because I needed sleep.... and it took a bit and was really hard and heartbreaking... but now at 14 months she gets laid down between 7 and 8 pm may fuss for up to 20 min but then sleeps till 8 am
