your baby first smile??? all i ever get is the adorable sleep smiles but i want to see the real thing... she will be 2 months sunday... isnt is about time or no?

You should be getting a real smile out of her any day. My youngest was about 7 weeks and my oldest about 6 weeks when I got their first smiles.

aww thats exciting, how did u know it was a real smile? what did u do to make them smile?

around 7 or 8 weeks.  it sucked, though, because he was smiling at OTHER people for about 2 weeks before he ever smiled at me.  i don't know why, and i'll probably never let him live it down.

i knew it was a real smile because (a) he wasn't asleep and (b) he didn't immediately burp and then throw up all over me.  and i was just talking to him while he was eating.  he stopped eating, looked at me, and smiled the biggest baby smile.  then he went back to eating.  it made me so happy i cried, lol.

Just talk to her , eventually her face will light up. You will now the difference between that first real smile and those lovely gas smiles.

oh really... my mom said ahe smiled at her but i didnt believe her.. lol that does suck, i wanted to see the first one

lol... it's still VERY precious the first they purposely smile at you, even if it wasn't their first smile ever.  : )
