Okay I most def dont want this turning into a Race Post, but I have a question that I actually already know the answer to I am just trying to find out how many others out there agree with me I guess lol....
Okay so yes I am "white" as is my family...As I am sure you can tell by my Profile Pic...Anyway so Christmas is coming and My daughter Charity is really into dolls, and I wanted to get her a Cabbage Patch Doll, so we were looking at the dolls and I found one I really liked and bought it for her , and I know she will like it too...So I was showing my sister what I bought the Kids for Christmas and When I got to what I bought Charity and the Cabbage Patch Doll my sisters first reaction was..." Why Did You Buy Her a Black Doll?"
I really didnt think it mattered what the "Color" of the doll was, I just picked it because it was the cutest one there I thought...It Is one of those 25th Anniversery Ones and it was the Only one left in that certain outfit and that had a Binki like my daughter wanted? My sister said it was weird that i would buy it for her since my daughter is not "black" ?? and that it would offend others that were black if they saw her carrying it around??
So my question is, Would it seriously Offend anyone black or white to see a white girl carrying a black baby doll or vise versa a black girl carrying a white doll??

by tfmmpmmdmmom on Dec. 4, 2008 at 3:35 PMIt doesn't matter what color the doll is, a doll is a doll. She can loves a black doll just as much as a white doll. I don't think it's wrong at all. She'll love it. |
