Edit:

I am a SAHM.  I am not saying that all stay at home moms are uneducated or unemployable.

Why would a woman have children with and become dependent on a man before she had finished her education and had established a career?  Now many of these women become trapped in bad situations because they cannot take care of themselves or their children alone.

Why would anyone take such a huge risk with their lives and the lives of their children?  Especially in the case of women who are not even married to the men they are dependent upon.  Those women are even more at risk.

  • I think some women don't want to be over a certain age when they have kids.

Wasn't the point of Women's rights to give us a CHOICE whether or not we pursue a career or not?

  • This is the same person that is always dogging sahm's. I love staying home and I do not consider myself uneducated. I think with me staying home, it will help my children out alot. And if I decide to go back to work, thats my choice. eye rolling

  • Well, I guess you could say I fit into that catogory.

I am a 23 year old hs drop out. I have a two year old and am expecting #2 in january.

I know it wasnt the smartest thing to do. But I cant go back and change things...I wouldnt change anything about haveing my daughter. I wish I could go back and graduate though. I had planned on getting my ged, and going back to school. I still plan to do so eventually. I know I should have done it along time ago, but you know what better late then never though.

Things didnt work out the way I planned but still.
