I didn't follow that post at all...and this may have been brought up in it, I don;t know

but

I was sitting here wondering why a mother can have a child, decide to not be part of the child's life and give it up for adoption...at no cost to her.

A father, doesn't have that right. He can't say..well I never wanted children so have a good time with the baby. No he has to pay for the child for 18years.

Why? Not really fair....or is it?

    I agree, it's NOT fair.

  • Double standard just like everything else, when it comes to men. NO its not fair in the least that a woman gets an out, whatever that may be, but the man doesn't he is always forced in some way to be a father, even if he doesn't want to. So then you end up with a guy who resents his kids and their mother because he was forced to be a parent with someone he didn't want to be with, or just in general didn't want to be a parent and the ones who suffer the most out of all of it are the kids. Then again you'll get the women who say, oh well when a man can have babies, lol that's not even a valid argument.

Same can be said for the woman too right? The point is that SHE has an out, while a man doesn't.

  •  because it didn't grow inside the father-

(I agree it's not right, but that's the general consensus)

Maybe he was tricked or the protection failed.  I agree that a man that has clearly voiced that he doesn't want children should be able to give up his rights and responsibility.

  • A guy can sign away his rights so yes, they do have an out as you call it.

    What about the woman?

And a man can sign over his rights just as a woman can...
