A video I made for ICAN
ALOT OF WHAT I SEE IN THIS VID IS TRUE. AND I CAN RELATE TO IT!! I HAVE 2 CHILDREN && HAD 2 C-SECTIONS. I WAS NEVER ASKED OR GIVIN AN OPTION. MY OB -GYN TOLD ME THAT I NEEDED TO HAVE ONE BECAUSE MY FIRST SON WAS ''SUPPOSED'' TO BE 9 LBS 3 OZ {{ WAS ONLY 8 LBS 13OZ }} AND WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE FOR ME TO DELIVER. I NEVER EVEN EXPERIENCED LABOR. WITH MY SECOND..I HAD A NEW DOC BUT THE HOSPITAL TOLD ME THEY HAD A NO -VBAC POLICY BECAUSE THEY WERENT ''EQUIPPED'' TO HANDLE COMPLICATIONS FROM IT. SO I HAD A REPEAT SECTION. THE THING WAS THAT I WENT INTO LABOR BEFORE THE SCHEDULED DATE && DIALATED TO ALMOST 7 CM IN JUST AN HOUR AND A HALF, BUT WAS STILL FORCED INTO THE C-SECTION! LEMME JUST SAY..I NEVER PLAN TO HAVE MORE CHILDREN..BECAUSE THE PAIN I ENDURED FOR THE FOLLOWING 2-3 MONTHS I COULDNT DO OVER.
I think ICAN is awesome. My ob told me about it. I'm currently pg and I've been cleared for a VBA3C by my dr so long as I don't have placenta previa or accreta. :)
I wish we had OB's like that out here... I have had 3 women in the past week looking for a provider for a VBA2C and VBA3C and it is impossible. :(

Trust me, it's not that common here either. I live in NJ, the capital of lawsuits. My car insurance is insane even though I've never had a ticket or an accident and apparently medical insurance is the same way. I connected with this dr because of my prior employment at a local hospital. He doesn't advertise and he keeps the practice small. Other than his private practice, he runs a clinic in Newark and does a bunch of work thru the hospital. His private practice is a small part of his week so that makes it kind of inconvenient (not a lot of office hours) but he is very reachable if you have a question or concern.

Holy crap! NJ?!?
WOW!
If you didn't mind sharing the name of the OB who is letting your VBA3C, I would like to pass it along to the ICAN chapters in NJ as a resource.
